El Dr. Carlos Carrere, médico especialista en medicina reproductiva, director de Procrearte, contó que “la edad de maternidad depende de cada mujer, hay una edad biológica en cuanto a la funcionabilidad del ovario, en la cual desde los 30 años la calidad ovocitaria y la reserva de los óvulos empieza a disminuir y se acentúa a partir de los 37 años y ya es difícil lograr un embarazo un embarazo después de los 40 aún con ayuda de un médico”.
Carrere aseguró que la medicina reproductiva logra embarazos hasta los 45 años por técnicas de fertilización in Vitro porque puede mejorar el ovulo aunque la mayoría no lo logra. El especialista aseguró que “en mujeres de entre 40 y 44 años, solo el 22% logra el embarazo, o sea una de cada cinco no lo logra porque la calidad de los óvulos es deficiente”.
El hecho que las mujeres pasan la barrera de los 30 años sin intensión de ser madres- contó Carrere- preocupa hasta a los chinos “porque después de esa edad ya pierde el 90% de lo óvulos con los que nació”. Si una mujer busca maternidad a partir de la tercera década “lo hace con el 10% que le quedó”, dijo Carreres.
También diferenció lo que ocurre entre los 30 y 35 años, cuando al acercarse a los 37 años “ya los ovulos son de peor calidad”. Para esto hay banco de ovulos donde se guardan “los buenos”.
Procrearte fue creada con la intensión de llevar a cabo la maternidad diferida. Se trata de un tratamiento in vitro, indoloro no quirúrgico que este centro practica y cuesta $5.000 y después se paga 100 dolares por año para mantener el ovulo.
